C-1 STARTING OUT RIGHT

First wearing of equipment to 30 days under saddle. Several beginning horses are used so you can see the reaction as they learn the lessons. Includes introduction to surcingle, crupper, snaffle, ground driving, backing, check rein, saddle and actual first ride.

C-2 TRAINING TECHNIQUES

Compares training for English, Western and Park. Differences in collection, elevation and impulsion don't alter the logic of training. Demonstrates that the same techniques are effective with different disciplines.

D-2 AMATEUR ENGLISH, RIDING TO WIN

You can beat a better horse with better riding. Lessons include riding without reins, creating independent hands and arms, gaining complete leg control of your horse, what diagonal to use, staying with the motion, fitting the bridle anc stirrups. This tape can build your confidence.

D-3 AMATEUR WESTERN, RIDING TO WIN

The better you ride, the more you'll win. We'll work on your balance on the horse, body position, leg cues and control quiet hands, putting the horse in the correct carriage at the correct rate and talk of some of the things the judges can and cannot see.

E-1 MAKING THE HACKAMORE HORSE

Using a bosal and snaffle bit to school and show young western horses. Covers the purpose and pressure points of the bosal, the need to intersperse snaffle work, proper fitting, attaching reins. Includes mechanical hackamore to reinforce response, when to quit the bosal.

E-3 ADVANCED WESTERN

Identifies and demonstrates the fine points of flexion, collection, responsiveness, balance, tempo and rate. Introduction of curb bit. Presents a simulated show ride to help you think your way through a class.

These are the tricks, the high school maneuvers, taught with patience and gentleness. Includes kneel, bow, sit, lie down, nod, Spanish walk, circus bow, camel stretch, head stand, pedestal stand, rear and other specific responses. Improves communication between horse and human.
